To further network with designers and potentially get freelance work. The process was easy enough to sign up, and I am excited to see where this will take me and my practice.

Presentation - roles
Giving roles and responsibilities to the team gave us a larger persective of a business. I was given Creative Director, which include responsibilities such as, leading the communication design, interactive design, and concept forward in any work assigned. The creative director is known to guide a team of employees with skills and experience related to graphic design.

Student Representative
Being selected as a student representative this year has brought me more responsibilities and pressures. These include,
- Trying to improve the current level 5 experience.
- Attending management and board meetings.
- Relaying messages from student's to course leaders and college management.
- Then relaying managements responses back to level 5, clearly and efficiently.
- More contact with administrators.
What I have taken away from the experience,
- By volunteering and being sleeked it has helped me to connect to tutors, admin, management and other students who are not in my year at college.
- It has increased my self confidence when talking to people who are at a higher status than me.
- Knowing how the college is run, more knowledge of the college.
- Building a better relationship with my peers.
- It has helped me in learning how to take a leadership role.
- Organising time and managing action plans.
- Listening effectively and relaying messages.
These responsibilities have been new and exciting, I have enjoyed the role and would like to do it again.
Networking - Behance
Wanting to network further and showcase my work to a wider audience, Behance has allowed me to do this. Although only setting up an account recently I am happy with the results so far.
Having contact information as well as stating I am available to do design work. I also have links to my Indesign, Pinterest and Facebook. Although Facebook is not very professional, it might help a potential client get to know me better. As I find Behance and Indesign a very formal approach, maybe to impersonal.

Already I have had contact with designers from different areas of design and from outside the UK, which is quite exciting.

Logo Mock ups
The logo is for Equillibrio. My inspiration was trying to find a balance in the design. I tried to show two scales and a balance between the two 'e's'.
With these designs I wanted to use a a hierarchy in opacity. Colour choice is something which I need to consider more but the orange works well given the location of the studio.
Finally these designs are incorporating spanish characters. Again finding the scale concept by connecting the two 'e's'. The use of the 'q' something else which I found interesting in the design and this can be seen in some of the designs, the 'e' and 'q' being created by the spanish glyphs.
Start up business research
Start-up businesses
If you’re launching a new business, you’re in a unique position to operate as what is often called a ‘challenger brand’. This means that you can take a look at a market sector from the outside, assess all the players, opportunities or gaps in the market and then launch your product with a brand that challenges and shakes up the conventions of the sector. It’s hard to do this once you’re established as there’s more to lose, so think carefully about how brave and ‘rule’-breaking’ your product or service can be if you’re about to launch to market.
Another benefit you may have as a start-up is that the business is likely to be small and therefore responsive and adaptable, with no existing processes that have to be changed to create a new brand. In short: you’ve got one shot to do something exciting, relatively cheaply, so go for it.
Gü: start-up brand
Gü was launched into the chilled desserts market as a premium product whose name (an invented word) simultaneously hints at a European origin and evokes thoughts of gooey chocolate or treacle.
The name and graphic black and white packaging all broke the ‘rules’ of design and branding in the desserts sector and the product consequently stands out strongly in supermarkets.
The brand has subsequently been extended with the launch of Frü, a range of fruit desserts.
