2. Own ironing. to ensure i look my best at all times. i would rarely iron at home, maybe a shirt for work or if i was going out but never as relentlessly as i do now.
3. Own cooking. At home i would make myself simple dishes with no exploration but now i have flown the nest i find myself cooking more and more without the aid of cook books and seeing what tastes good and what doesn't. As well as presentation, as we eat with our eyes.
4. That you can wash plates without a dishwasher(my mum). I have become more independent.
5. I enjoy my own company. At times i can find life away from friends and family a bit lonely but recently i have found that this is time i can enjoy my own company and work or relax.
6. I'm not as unsociable as i thought. that i have made plenty of new friends which i can have a good time with. only knowing a few people in leeds before i came i thought i would be spending the majoruty of my spare time with them, but this hasn't happened. i have only been to their house once.
7. I'm terrible at budgeting. my balance at the end of the first semester was horrid. in order to be successful in life i need to control this problem of over spending and address this issue as soon as possible.
8. I am hygienic. comparing myself to my peers and other members of the public i think of myself as well groomed and presentable. which cannot be said for some people i have encountered. although i understand that it may be someones 'lifestyle' i don't think its that acceptable.
9. I dont work as hard as i should. Getting a 2:2 in my first module was upsetting but a fair reult to relation to my attendance and work ethic. i know i need to improve my attendance and effort to be a high flyer.
10. I manage myself in a city. i found the prospect of university daunting as well as living in a city. being from a small village in the North East of England, i had my doubts about living in a totally alien place and only knowing 4 others who lived in the city. Although i think i have been reasonably composed and handled it well, knowing others in my situation.
10 THINGS I HAVE LEART ABOUT MYSELF AS A DESIGNER
1. I enjoy the challenge of deadlines. Only having so much time to do work in i have to hand in and i find this a struggle but i keep to deadlines.
2. I find simplicity to be key. to keep things simple and effective i think is key to graphic design, that the message should be clear.
3. that i enjoy working as a individual. that i know what i want to create and what i want to get across in my work and this mindset i find is the best.
4. but also enjoy participating to a team. being part of a collective of creative people can be inspiring alone. idea generation and work ethic is increased resulting in some really quite dynamic work.

5. i dont develop my ideas far enough. to ensure i get the highest marks i can achieve i should always push myself and come out of my comfort zone. that mistakes can also be 'happy' mistakes which i can learn from or include in my work.
6. that I'm confident with the software. after recent tutorials i feel confident enough to try new software and formats. this is key for my development as a graphic designer.
7. im confident infront of peers. i don't feel as much pressure in front of my peers to express my work or myself, i try to clear, loud and concise with whatever i am presenting.
8. in research i have found some very useful sites, eg. logopond. these sites which i have found have helped me to have more of an understanding for the topic and i feel they help me to see what aspects of deign i like and dislike.
9. i need to use my time more effectively. In order to become more productive i have to organise myself in a more productive manor. recently i have not been doing so i and i must address this issue.
10. i need to participate more in the studio sessions so i get a better understanding of the subject. I find some of my peers contribute more in studio time and seem to have a better understanding fro the subject than what i have, and if i don't understand something i should make it clear to the tutors so i gain a better understanding.
