1. Sport. I am a huge sport enthusiast, from watching to playing. I currently play for a 5-a-side team every week and regularly go to the gym. I support Manchester City and until recently had a season ticket but i still go to as many games as possible. I have always been loyal to Manchester City and I like to think i am a loyal in general.
2. I have a strong relationship with my family. We all get on with each other and are all supportive of each other. They help me when I'm stuck with anything tell are only a phone call away to help me. the image below is of me and my family, minus my dad at christmas.
4. I also work as a barman, waiter and pot washer at home, sometimes all at once. I enjoy working at the pub as it is only a small community in my village so i get on really well with most of the cliental. Working in such conditions can be a strenuous when all of the village and people from further a field decide to come to the pub for events which we might have on, such as live music and beer festivals. But i tend to thrive under the pressure and come out on top.
5. Again i have a passion for film. In particular films which are based on a true story and are about the extremes of lives lived by people. Examples of these films are Goodfella's, 127 hours, Raging Bull, Into the Wild, 24 Hour Party People, Control and Catch me if you can. I find these films intesting but i also enjoy fictional films such as thrillers and comedies.
Who am I as a designer?
1. I really like minimalist work. Sometimes the very best designs are those that strip away all that is unnecessary, all fluffy decoration, and leave us with a simple message that speaks to the human condition.Christopher David Ryan’s (aka CDR) work does just that.

2. I also have an interest in ethics in graphic design. I found this really interesting statement when doing this work and thought i would put it in as it applies to work which we touched on last week.
There is certainly nothing wrong with protecting our professional interests and the interests of our clients, and you'll find content to that effect in most statements of ethical practices created by designer organizations around the world. However, I would argue that our single, most significant contribution to society would be to make sure that the communications we create are actually useful to those for whom they're intended—and that this concern must be elevated to the same level of importance as those previously discussed.

3. I have a keen interest in negative space as it has much correlation to minimalist design. negative space is the part of the design that is not being used. In design, there are three plain elements that make up the framework of the piece. These include the subject (positive space), the frame and then the negative space. an example of this work is Saul Bass and his film posters. Saul bass

4. Hand rendered work gives things a more personal touch. such as this piece i found which is titled mother knows best and is a typeface which reflects someones mother's hand writing. this is something which i find very personal and deeper than most work which isn't as conceptual.

5. Impacting design is something which i think is a must if you are going to be successful. To be impacting you must be able to think outside of the box and create something new and visually interesting. I try to do this in my work where i can, one of my influences is Ian Wright the illustrator.
